Walwa Taluka Education Society was founded in 1945 by Late Shri. S. D. Patil and his co-workers for the educational uplift and the welfare of the society. Late Shri. S. D. Patil was very active in the social and political activities in the Southern Maharashtra. He was elected as a M. L. A., M. P. and President of Zilla Parishad from Sangli

S. D. Patil College of Pharmacy, Urun-Islampur has been started with great foresight. Our institute is run on non aid basis (Private unaided). The College has made pioneering efforts in the providing the comprehensive education & training in Pharma Science to the students coming particularly from the rural areas. The intake capacity of D Pharm and B Pharm course is 60 students per year.

The college helps the students to achieve industrial excellence. With the liberalization of economy and globalization of the world market under GATT, Pharmacy education has to keep pace with the fast developments in pharmaceutical technology & Pharma marketing in global context. The managements and faculty members of our college are endeavoring towards this objective.

S. D. Patil Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma and Degree), Urun-Islampur is recognized by govt. of Maharashtra affiliated to Maharashtra state Board of tech Education (MSBTE) Mumbai. And approved by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technology University, Lonere (DBATU) & Pharmacy Council of India New Delhi.
